인천항에서 배를 타고도 한참을 가야 하는 굴업도의 아침.
안개가 바다와 땅이 구분안되도록 짖어 땅을 딛고 있는 내가 비현실적으로 느껴지는 곳에서...
매일 밤 바다를 만나는 바위를 만났다.
그 바위의 한 부분이었을 돌멩이 하나를 손에 올리고
돌멩이와 바위를 마찰시킨다.
내가 머무는 시간만큼 마모되어 새겨는 두 돌들은 작가의 시간과 노동에 의해 그 만남이 기록된다.
마모되어 희뿌여진 달빛의 모습으로...
이 달빛은 낮에도 뜨지만 또 작가가 떠난, 굴업도의 시간이 흐르면서 서서히 사라진다.

Moon on Rock

In the morning on Gulupdo Island, which is only accessible after a long trip by boat from Incheon, fog that is thick enough to blur the boundary between the sea and land creates a surreal experience. It is there that I encountered the rock that met the sea every night.

In my hand, I held a stone that may have been part of the rock and rubbed them together. The friction between these two objects engraved the period of my stay and recorded the expenditure of time and labor.

In the hazy moonlight because of abrasion …

This moonlight appears during the day, but after the artist leaves and time passes on Gulupdo, it slowly disappears.
